KOLORISTIKA APP · 1.2.7 · CHROMOGRAM™
May 27th 2026 • PRESS RELEASE
THE VECTORSCOPE, UNROLLED.
Color, made readable. Seven hues drawn live from the scene, weighted by what is actually there. The rigor stays. The priesthood goes.
Chromogram™ headlines Koloristika 1.2.7, out now.
The vectorscope was built for engineers. Traces on green phosphor, a Tektronix in a post-production suite, answering questions for people who already know how to ask them. That circle is not sacred. It is an artifact of the oscilloscope, a shape that came from the hardware, from analog chroma signals routed onto a round screen. The information was always good. The instrument was never meant for everyone.
So we unrolled it.
Chromogram is a bar of color that lives below the shutter. Seven hues, drawn from the scene itself, each one sized by its share of the frame. It shifts as you compose, live, the palette of the picture read back to you before you take it. The palette extract you have seen pulled from your favorite films, now happening in your hand. Bake it into the export when you want the palette to travel with the picture. A new Chromograms album holds the prints.
The rigor of a scope, readable by anyone. Translated, not dumbed down. The rigor stays. The priesthood goes.
Also in 1.2.7: Upper Density gains a negative half. Pull it subtractive and color drains from the highlights, whites moving toward paper white. Separate AF and AE locks, a first long-press for focus shown as a circle, a second for exposure shown as a square. And Recent Edits, the gallery re-sorted by what you touched last, freshest first.
